Granada Workshop

April 25

Hi all, it has been a while since I posted a blog. I have been teaching in Granada and am pleased to announce that we will have a workshop on May 5th. You can have a look on facebook or the Cocoberryspa website by following the links below:

Teaching yoga psychology has led me back to the Yoga Sutra the source text for yoga. I have been enjoying reading a very extensive commentary that I found on the web and dabbling with my own translation/interpretation of my understanding of this very succinct document. If you are interested write to me and I will send you some links and a draft of my translation.

Staying In one place for a period of time has allowed me to feel more as if I am at home, cooking some meals, visiting friends, watching baseball and of course biking. A highlight for me has been meeting local riders who like to go out for long rides on Saturdays and Sundays. I have now done 4 rides with them. They are very friendly and not competitive. We usually ride to Masaya and go to the market for a cheap breakfast – about $1.50. Last Sunday we rode to a lookout over Apoyo – an old volcano crater filled with water that is quite scenic and climbed about 600 meters.

I am also taking Spanish lessons for an hour a day at a non-profit centre – Casa Xalteva that supports local children. Today I had the privilege of leading the children in a yoga class. They were so much fun!  I have also met Lloyd and Jerrod two young men from the US who are volunteering at the centre and who are going to ride up to Mexico. Lloyd has rigged up two 10 litre plastic buckets with lids as pannier bags. I’ll get a picture and post it on Flickr.
